Discover the perfect season for your Kerala getaway — from the dry season's ideal beach days to the lush green rice terraces of monsoon.
Kerala, God's Own Country, enchants visitors year-round — but timing your visit right can mean the difference between a dreamlike escape and contending with crowds and rain.
The Dry Season (April – October)
This is unquestionably the best time to visit Kerala for most travelers. Clear skies, calm seas, and low humidity make it ideal for beach holidays, water sports, and trekking Mount Batur. July and August are peak months, bringing international tourists and higher hotel rates, but the weather is exceptional.
Best for: Beach holidays, surfing (south coast), hiking, cultural festivals
The Rainy Season (November – March)
Don't dismiss the wet season entirely. Rainfall typically comes in short, intense afternoon bursts, leaving mornings fresh and perfect for temple visits and rice terrace walks. The landscape is at its most lush and green, photographer's paradise. Prices are lower and crowds thinner — except around Christmas and New Year.
Best for: Budget travel, photography, spa retreats, surfing (west coast)
